Native of Normandin in Lac-St-Jean, she has recently been living in Quebec City. As early as primary school, she showed signs of an artistic inlination. Her high school courses were beneficial for her academic progress, even decisive in her school success.
It was only at the age of 19 that she discovered an interest in painting and that she exhibited her first pieces of art at the end of her Cégep years. After her studies in visual arts in Jonquière and a Bachelor's degree in arts education at the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi, she moved to Quebec where she combined the profession of teacher and of painter. Her Facebook community currently reaches more than 60,000 amateurs of her art and the enthusiasm for her works is always growing. Those who want to get their hands on a painting by Laurie Marois must be patient, because her waiting list continues to grow.
