For several months now, we have been working on implementing a sustainable development policy that is perfectly alined with our mission to make a social, environmental and economic difference in our society.
This process is part of a continuous improvement approach, and we are proud to present our progress to you.
Concrete Actions for the Environment
Our products are made with textiles made from 50% post-consumer recycled materials. Each Solem towel represents the equivalent of 13 recycled bottles. To date, we have used the equivalent of over one million recycled bottles in the manufacture of our products.
We also make sure to choose high-quality inks that are environmentally friendly.
To reduce waste, we have reviewed all our packaging. We now use recyclable shipping bags and boxes made in part from recycled materials. We also offer the option of choosing a reusable shipping bag when purchasing online.
As for GHG emissions, we give priority to Canada Post for our ground shipments within Canada, because they are carbon-neutral. For other shipments made by different carriers, we take care to compile the data, then offset these GHGs via the Carbone Boréal organization. For the year 2023, 766 trees will be planted. An initiative that makes us particularly proud at Solem.

We have made a formal commitment to actively support Leucan, an organization that helps children with cancer and their families.
Partnership with Leucan
Solem is a company founded by two mothers from the healthcare sector, which employs a majority of women and mothers. That's why we were particularly drawn to Leucan, which helps children with cancer and their families.
Our actions, spread over several months, are divided into three phases, with a total goal of 26,000 $.
- Donation of products valued at 6,000 $ for the kits given to families.
- Online donation drive to raise 10,000 $. Once the target will have been reached, Solem will donate an additional 5,000 $ to the organization, for a total of 15,000 $. $
- Launch of a Solem x Leucan collection, where 15 $ per towel and 7.25 $ per dishcloth purchased on solem.ca will be donated, for a total of $5,000. $
