HÉBERTVILLE Solem held a VIP party to mark the inauguration of their new warehouse last night. The high-end microfiber towel company also took the opportunity to unveil new products and present its commitment to the non-profit organization, Leucan.

Lorie-Anne Lapointe, representative of Leucan's Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean office, was present last night to highlight this commitment. "It is thanks to the generosity of companies like Solem that Leucan has been able, for over 40 years, to support families whose children have cancer, notably by offering financial assistance and investing in clinical research. We are therefore delighted to celebrate Solem's support of the Association," she explains.

The company has made three announcements concerning donations to the association in support of children with cancer and their families. Firstly, Solem will donate 300 packs of magic wipes, for a total value of 6,000 $, to be included in the welcome kit given to families following the diagnosis. The second step was to announce an online fundraising target of 10,00 $ by the end of the year. If the target is reached, Solem will donate a further 5,000$ to the organization. Finally, a special fundraising campaign for Leucan will be unveiled before the end of the year.

The company, founded by two sisters in 2019, employs mainly women and moms who were already thinking of getting involved with an organization that helps families.

"At Solem, more than two thirds of our employees have already worked in the healthcare field. Our corporate and human values naturally led us to want to get involved. We believe in the power of involvement, and as a former nurse in the healthcare network, and more particularly as a mother, we chose to get involved with Leucan, which supports families at every stage of the disease. Collecting donations online is our way of giving back and making a difference," says Marie-Hélène Doucet, cofounder of Solem.
"Every year, some 300 Quebec families receive a cancer diagnosis in their children, so offering our magic wipes in the welcome kit given to families was a natural for us; a way to offer a moment of gentleness and support to these families," adds her sister Mylène Lessard.

Solem closed the evening's inauguration of its new warehouse by mentioning that further alliances and signatures are planned between now and 2025.
