Lysanne Richard Joins Forces with a Hébertville Beach Towel Manufacturer

Radio Canada

High-flying diver Lysanne Richard performed a 22-meter jump at Dam-en-Terre on Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. in what was a first, for the Chicoutimi native, before the public in Lac-Saint-Jean.

This feat marked the start of a partnership between her, the artist-painter Laurie Marois, from Normandin, and Solem, a young company from Hébertville which presented a collection of high-quality beach towels designed in microfiber.

For Marie-Hélène Doucet, co-owner of Solem, this partnership was only natural. Laurie Marois is one of our favorite painters and Lysanne an athlete whom we admire a lot. For Mylène and me (Lessard, the other co-owner), collaborative work is really important. We said to ourselves, we have to do something that is grandiose. We really have a beautiful signature collection with unique pieces , she said.

The desire to find a solution to their problem of wet towels prompted the co-owners to found their company, almost three years ago. In March, they even quit their jobs to devote themselves to this project, which has been growing year after year.

One of four designs in their new collection features Canada's most decorated extreme diver. ">We can feel the soaring, the risk taking, the self-transcendence that you also put into your business. There are so many points in common between embarking on projects and launching into the void , launched Lysanne Richard to the two entrepreneurs.

This collaboration is timely for the diver who wishes to make her sport better known in Quebec. She also plans to set a Guinness record with a high-flying dive from a hot air balloon in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu in August. km/h" et="" puis="" moins="" d'une="" seconde,="" je="" passe="" à="" 0.="" donc,="" c'est="" vraiment="" comme="" une="" voiture="" qui="" percute="" un="" mur="" 80="" km="" h="" tout="" ça,="" ça="" effet="" corps.="" la="" façon="" me="" préparer="" faire="" bonne="" préparation="" physique="" mentale="" pour="" bien="" exécuter="" mon="" plongeon,="" parce="" que="" même="" quand="" réussis="" très="" super="" difficile="" corps","text":"il="" 80km="" corps"}}<="" span>"="" style="border: 0px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-position: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-variant-alternates: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-weight: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; line-height: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: 17px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; quotes: «   »; box-sizing: border-box;">There is so much impact on the body in a high dive because in three seconds I reach 80 km/h and then in less than a second I go to 0. So it's really like a car who hits a wall at 80 km/h which goes to 0. All that has an effect on the body. The way to prepare for that is to do the right physical and mental preparation to execute my dive well, because even when I do my dive very well, it's super hard on the body, she said.

There are three other models in the collection that present works created by Laurie Marois. So thrilled by this association, Laurie Marois painted a toucan that ended up on a towel, right after her maternity leave. xtagstartzspan lang="fr" title="French">Inspiration came on its own, I sent them the first photo and they were like, "Yeah, that's it,"
