Lysanne Richard Will Jump at Dam-en-Terre

After having dived all over the world, and more recently in the Saguenay Fjord, Lysanne Richard will set off on Tuesday from a boom lift plateform in the waters of Dam-en-Terre, in Alma.

Solem, a young company from Hébertville that specializes in microfiber towels, has found a very original way to launch its new signature collection. In addition to Lysanne Richard, the painter Laurie Marois, originally from Normandin, will also be there.

"A partnership between four women from the region for a big launch," says Mylène Lessard, cofounder of Solem with her childhood friend Marie-Hélène Doucet.

Recently, the company also became the main sponsor of the high-flying diver from Chicoutimi.

Impossible, however, to know the details of the launch!

“I will not reveal the punch today, but we’ve been working on this project for months!”

At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, the international diver will launch from a boom lift plateform located more than 75 feet in the air. Earlier in the afternoon, the launch of Solem will take place.

Dam-en-Terre's general manager, Mathieu Brassard, explains that the boom lift will be located at the right end of the beach, in a section where the water depth reaches 50 feet, which is more than enough for the high dive.

“I was approached to provide the site. This is really my kind of project! To provide visibility to Dam-en-Terre, for citizens, for tourists, so that they may come to the site. It's a good outreach!” rejoices Mathieu Brassard.

Security guards and police should be on site. La Dam-en-Terre asks boaters not to travel with their boat between 5:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. in order to ensure the safety of the diver.

The two co-founders launched their company in February 2019, but a few months ago, the two moms put aside their careers as psychoeducator and nurse to devote themselves to it full-time. “We took the plunge, we launched into the void!” admits Ms. Lessard.
